Yoga tips for beginners

Are you thinking to practice yoga?

Do you want to lose weight practicing yoga? Then go through “yoga tips for beginners”.

Yoga has more benefits other than losing weight. Yoga was introduced to people many years ago and it continues to date as it gives effective results. 

I have started with workout exercises, cardio (high intensity), Aerobics, Zumba and ended with yoga sessions now. And I suggest yoga is best for everything according to my experience. In yoga, power yoga is more effective, but as a beginner, start with light yoga of mind relax, stretching and move towards power yoga.

So if you are tired of doing many tricks and taken many steps to lose weight, then you are now in the right place. 

Yoga, not only helps you lose weight but gives you flexibility, energy, relaxation of mind, improves your immune system, control your hunger, increases concentration rate and shape your body perfectly.

Now, if you are ready and confirm to go for yoga then here are some tips you have to keep in mind. So let’s start and go ahead.


   1. Time for Yoga:


Morning time is good for yoga, but not fixed. You can do yoga anytime whenever you are free and you have a gap of 3 to 4 hours of your meal.
If you do yoga in the morning, then you have more benefits as you get sunlight which keeps you full and controls your hunger.
 If you do yoga in the afternoon, then you will feel relaxed of all day work.
If you do in the evening, you will feel full of energy the whole day.
If you do at night before going to bed, then you will good sleep and wakes up fresh and energetic in the morning. 

2. Drink plenty of water:



2 to 3 litres of water per day is necessary for our body. Take lemon with lukewarm water and start your day. There is a possibility that you will not be able to control your hunger in the beginning, just take lemon with normal water and add a pinch of salt/sugar for taste. You can take this drink the whole day whenever you feel hungry or every 2 hours. This will help you a lot. 

3. Try N Try:


Yes, at first you will not be able to do each and every yoga poses, it’s ok guys don’t get upset. Just practice every day and see the results in just one week. You will be doing many yoga poses except 2 or 3 with a week. 

4. Eat after 30 minutes: 

You can eat after 30 minutes of your yoga session. And again you feel hungry then have a cup of green tea or coffee but after 15 minutes.

5. Duration of yoga session:


As a beginner, you should do 30 minutes per day. In a week, you should do 150 minutes of yoga to shape your body and 200-250 minutes of yoga to lose weight. Do 4 to 5 times per week. If you do 30 minutes of yoga session on Monday-Friday and 1-hour yoga on Saturday-Sunday, you will complete 250 minutes a week. Also, you can take relaxing and stretching yoga on Sunday to relax your body.

6. Yoga session:


In your 30 minutes of yoga session take 5 minutes to boost your energy. For that, you can do 3 to 4 Surya-Namaskar (sun salutation). After that do high power yoga for 20 to 25 minutes and relax for 5 minutes doing Shavasana. Shavasana is the important part of a yoga session, if not 5 minutes possible, do it for 2 to 3 minutes.

7. Feel the move and pain:


While doing yoga poses, feel each and every move and feel the stretch. This move and stretch will be useful. You should be feeling good doing yoga. At the beginning of yoga course, your body will pain the next day but don’t let your pain keeps you away from yoga. That pain will not be of injury type. You will feel good in that pain also but don’t skip the session on that day. Don’t do high power yoga that day if you have more pain, do light and relaxing yoga.

8. Wear comfortable clothes:


You should wear comfortable clothes while doing yoga so that you can stretch your body as much you can. Your yoga session should be very comfortable with you so that you feel energetic, fresh and relaxing. 

9. Accept challenges but not compare: 


Yes, you should accept challenges to do yoga poses but don’t compare yourself with others. Our body is different from others. So we should take care of it. Comparing yourself with others can make you feel restless and yoga is all about relaxing and concentrating.

10. Do yoga with full details:


Do your yoga with one expert yoga teacher or with an online guide with full details of each pose. It will not only give you information but it will provide you knowledge of how to do and what is the reason or use of it. I had started my yoga session with the expert power yoga teacher with full use and how to do yoga asanas. Now I practice on my own every morning for at least 30 minutes daily and 1 hour on weekends with one day gap of a rest day.
